As part of Black History Month, Newberry College invites students to take part in a meaningful day trip to the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina. This immersive experience offers participants the opportunity to engage with powerful stories, history, and scholarship that illuminate the African American journey—particularly through the lens of the Lowcountry and the African diaspora.

The trip will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, departing campus at 7:00 a.m. and returning between 5:30–6:00 p.m. The $10 registration fee includes transportation via campus van, museum admission, and lunch. If this fee presents a hardship, students are encouraged to email Muller.Center@Newberry.edu for support to ensure access to this learning opportunity for all interested students.

AFTER YOU REGISTER, YOU WILL BE DIRECTED TO A SEPARATE PAGE TO SUBMIT THE $10 REGISTRATION FEE. REGISTRATION IS NOT COMPLETE AND/OR CONFIRMED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.

All participants are required to complete and submit a Field Trip Waiver and Release Form. This form will be emailed to each participant after the registration fee is paid and must be submitted by the stated deadline in the email to confirm participation.

Participation is limited to the first 50 students who register. The registration deadline is Friday, February 13. We hope you will join us!
